OMG - OMG
I just watched this with a group of people. We were all experiencing so many different physical and mental convulsions.
This is the most intense film ya’all have done thus far.
I love it. It is totally mental and really complicated and unpleasant to watch at times but I think that is what makes it really great.
Did her agent fucking freak out?
Did SHE FREAK OUT?
She looks like she wanted to kill someone at the end.

It is so amazing.

Ok—my review is over for now.
I love and miss you guys.

When are we working together again? When are we getting drinks and catching up. It has been so crazy past 2 months….we need to fill each other in.
BIG LOVES!

xxx Jamie

CAKE LAUNCH

Cake.

In Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, eating is one of the most basic physiological requirements.

Food is a fundamental necessity.

Rich in taste and exquisite in structure, a cake is at once something that satisfies one’s primary need of hunger and one’s desire for unrestrained consumption.

The argument can be made that cake is the most refined, decadent and gratuitous kind of food. Cultures around the world integrate cake into celebrations, creating exquisitely decorated structures to ultimately be destroyed, devoured.

FLY16x9 challenged five women to have their cake and eat it too. Eat it in its entirety, in fact.

Each woman was isolated in a room with her chosen confection.

At what point does an object of one’s desire transform itself into a thing of repulsion?
At what point does the pleasure turn into pain?
Is transitory happiness without thought?

Symbolically spherical and absolute in form, these edible oven-baked mandalas transcend the sum of their ingredients, becoming ‘perfect’ meditations on the  beauty and impermanence of all things.
